Welcome to the tutorial and manipulating the chart view.

In this tutorial, I will demonstrate the various methods available for zooming and scrolling inside the chart window.

The first feature I will discuss is called vertical auto scale. Vertical auto scaling is turned ON and OFF by clicking this button on a chart tool bar. When the vertical auto scale mode is enables the vertical scale of the chart will automatically change in order to fit in all vertical date when the chart is scrolled or zoomed.
Watch as I scroll the chart to the left with a scroll button.
The vertical scale is constantly adjusting in order to fit in all the highest and lowest points within the displayed time frame.

When the vertical auto scale feature is disabled, the vertical scale of the chart will remain fixed. Ss I scroll the chart a second time, know that the vertical scale does not adjust to fit the entire range of vertical data in the chart window.

In addition to the scroll bar at the bottom of the chart, it is also possible to scroll the chart by clicking and dragging the body of the chart
When vertical auto scale is enabled, the chart can only be dragged horizontally.
When vertical auto scale is disabled, the chart can be dragged in any direction.
You can always click the zoom reset button on the tool bar to return the chart to its default view.

In addition, to using the zoon and zoom out buttons you can change the scale of the chart by clicking and dragging the scale markers. To adjust the horizontal scale, position your mouse cursor over the time markers. When the cursor changes to the double-ended arrow with a plus and minus sign, click and drag the scale horizontally. Dragging to the right will zoom in a long time scale. Dragging to the left will zoom out along the time scale.

You will notice, as I adjust the horizontal scale, the vertical scale continuously changes, in order to fit in all the high and low points inside the chart window. This is because the vertical auto scale mode is engaged.

It is also possible to adjust the vertical scale, but we must first disable the vertical auto scale mode. Once vertical auto scale mode is turned off, it is possible to adjust the vertical scale by dragging it up or down. Dragging UP will zoom in along the price scale, dragging DOWN will zoom out along the price scale.
Adjusting the chart scale is a very convenient way to quickly modify the chart view

As always, after any modification, if you want to restore the default chart view simply click the zoom reset button.

You can quickly zoom or scroll the chart with the mouse wheel. To set the function, performed by the mouse wheel, go to the Chart Settings.

This concludes the tutorial and manipulating the chart view.
